The DNS behind every UnderHost domain.
UnderDNS answers for your domain from two independent locations. Point your domain to our nameservers once, then manage every record from CustomerPanel.
Our nameservers
Set these two at your domain registrar (UnderHost domains can switch in one click in CustomerPanel).
Built to keep answering
Two servers in two different networks hold a full copy of every zone. If one goes offline, the other keeps your domain online.
Two independent locations
Separate providers and networks, so a single outage never takes your DNS down.
Changes in seconds
Edits made in CustomerPanel reach both nameservers almost instantly. Only resolver caches (TTL) decide the rest.
DNSSEC ready
Sign your zone to protect visitors against forged DNS answers, with keys managed for you.
Every common record
A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT, SRV, CAA and NS, with validation that stops typos before they go live.
Any registrar
Use UnderDNS with domains registered at UnderHost or anywhere else, as long as they point to our nameservers.
Private by design
No ads, no tracking, no query logging for marketing. Your records are only used to answer for your domain.
Set up in three steps
Moving a domain to UnderDNS takes a few minutes. Your website and email keep working during the switch.
Open your domain in CustomerPanel
Go to Domains, choose the domain, then DNS records. We copy your current records so nothing breaks.
Switch the nameservers
UnderHost domains switch in one click. Elsewhere, set ns1.underdns.net and ns2.underdns.net at your registrar.
Manage records anytime
Add or edit records in CustomerPanel. Most networks see changes within minutes; full propagation can take up to 48 hours.
Questions
Is UnderDNS included with my UnderHost services?
Yes. DNS hosting on UnderDNS is included for domains managed in your UnderHost CustomerPanel account.
I see underdns.net in a domain's nameservers. Who is that?
UnderDNS is the authoritative DNS service operated by UnderHost. Domains using ns1.underdns.net and ns2.underdns.net have their DNS hosted with us. We only host the DNS records; the content of each website belongs to its owner.
How long do DNS changes take?
Our nameservers update within seconds. Resolvers around the world may keep the previous answer until its TTL expires, usually minutes and at most 48 hours after a nameserver change.
Can I use my own nameserver names?
Private (vanity) nameservers are available on request for resellers and white-label customers. Open a ticket from CustomerPanel.
How do I report abuse involving a domain on UnderDNS?
Email abuse@underhost.com with the domain and details. We review every report.
